Tomatoes

For this week’s shot I decided to experiment a little more with high-speed photography. I saw several awesome pictures about various fruits and vegetables thrown into glasses, but all of them had plain black or white backgrounds, so I decided that that is too mainstream.

So I built a backdrop of tomatoes (used about 2 kilograms) and placed a small DIY softbox to the right of the camera, filled the glass with water, started dropping a small tomato into the glass and trying to hit the shutter at the right moment. It made a huge mess (even bigger then my last picture… check that out too!), but in the end it was totally worth it.

Watch out for next week’s pic!
